PAINT FOR NONHAZARDOUS REMOVAL OF HEAVY METALS AND METHOD FOR USING THE SAME

This invention involves a novel paint formulation which acts as a carrier for heavy metal reactive chemicals so that when this novel paint is applied to a heavy metal painted surface and both are subsequently removed, the heavy metal paint waste is rendered nonhazardous under the TCLP test. Specifically, this paint carrier has a lead-reactive additive thereby rendering lead-paint waste nonhazardous upon removal.
