Production of polymer compounds with activated amino groups

Production (1) of preferably polymer compounds (A) with activated amino groups comprises treating hydroxy- or acyl- compounds (B) with a reagent (C) in aqueous alkaline solution at 60-90 (preferably 80) deg C, in the presence of microwave irradiation for a period of 0.5-20 minutes. The alkaline solution of (preferably acetyl) (B) compounds is preheated in the presence of the microwave irradiation for 0.5-20 minutes, before the reaction with (C). (C) is alkyl halide, epoxide, aziridine, vinyl sulphone derivatives. Also claimed is a process (2) for the controlled substitution and/or addition reactions, especially deacetylation of acyl groups, using microwave radiation.
