Torsion rod stabiliser for vehicle suspension

The torsion rod linking the two sides of the suspension have their ends braced on the mountings by adjustable supports comprising telescopic modules (7). A compact electric motor (57) inside the top of each module drives a control rod (19) whose lower end drives the bottom section of the telescopic unit to alter its support length. The motor drive incorporates a blocking mechanism which secures the setting when the motor torque is removed. The unit is driven from the suspension control circuit.
