A refrigerator (10) has fresh food and freezer compartments (14, 16), and each of the fresh food and freezer compartments (14, 16) has upper and lower portions. A first air duct (42, 44) extends from the upper portion of the freezer compartment (16) to the upper portion of the fresh food compartment (14), and a second air duct (48, 50) extends between the lower portion of the freezer compartment (16) and the lower portion of the fresh food compartment (14). A first fan (46) is arranged to draw first air through the first air duct (42, 44) from the upper portion of the freezer compartment (16) and to discharge the first air into the upper portion of the fresh food compartment (14). A second fan (70) is arranged to draw second air from the lower portion of freezer compartment (16) and to discharge the second air into the upper portion of the freezer compartment (16).
