<p>The present invention is directed to monoclonal antibodies and fragments thereof for immunoreaction with organic compounds having a molecular size of no more than about 15 atoms in length and being a linear or branched aliphatic molecule or a small peptide. The invention is as well directed to hybridomas which produce the monoclonal antibodies, to immunogen compounds of the organic compound which cause development of the appropriate mammalian antibody response and to methods for producing antibody fragments. The invention is further directed to methods for detecting, removing, adding or neutralizing the organic compounds in biological and inanimate systems through the use of the monoclonal antibodies or fragments thereof.</p>
