High shrinkage polyamide fibres consist of a polyamide based on 80-95 wt.% epsilon-caprolactam and 5-20 wt.% copolyamide of the monomer units hexamethylene diamine (HMD), meta-xylylene diamine or isophorone diamine in approximately equimolar amounts with isophthalic acid (IPA) or adipic acid, such that at least one of the monomer units is angled. Also claimed is a method for making the fibres.
