<p>The present invention relates to a process for determining the mass flow rate of a mixture of plastics granules (pellets) and edge trim material removed by an extruder out of a lower feed hopper (7). In this process, the edge trim material is directed continuously at the same feed rate and the plastics granules are directed continuously at a variable feed rate into an upper storage hopper (12) and an amount of the mixture is discharged intermittently from the latter into the lower feed hopper (7), which is designed as a weighing funnel. The extruder throughput and the feed rate of the supply of plastics granules to the upper storage hopper (12) is determined from the signals of this weighing funnel. <IMAGE></p> |
