<p>The high voltage protection circuit (10) disposed between a functional circuit and an input/output pin (12) of the integrated circuit, comprises a voltage reference terminal, and a resistor (13) connected in series with the pin and the functional circuit. A SCR (30) has an anode terminal, a cathode terminal, an anode-gate terminal, and a cathode gate terminal, where the anode terminal is connected to the functional circuit, and the cathode terminal is connected to the voltage reference terminal. A second resistor (19) is connected across the anode terminal and the anode-gate terminal. The SCR has a holding current set by the relative resistance values of the resistors. A third resistor (20) is connected across the cathode terminal and the anode terminal.</p> |
