The invention discloses a method for producing extensible composite yarns that consists in: in a first phase associating a yarn (6) with high elasticity with a second non-extensible or slightly extensible yarn (3) called "covering yarn" and in coiling the composite yarn (20) thus produced; then, in a second distinct phase, rewinding the composite yarn (20) reel on a twisting mechanism such as a double twisting machine. It is characterised in that the association of the two components (6, 3) in the first operational phase is effected without twisting, the coiling of the resulting composite yarn (20) being effected under constant tension. |
