A process cartridge (13) detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes an electrophotographic photosensitive drum (7); a shaft (37), projected externally of the electrophotographic photosensitive drum at a longitudinal end of the electrophotographic photosensitive drum, for supporting the electrophotographic photosensitive drum in the cartridge frame; a driving force receptor member (37a), projected externally from a lateral edge of the shaft substantially coaxially with the electrophotographic photosensitive drum, for receiving driving force from a main assembly of the apparatus when the process cartridge is mounted to the main assembly; process means actable on the electrophotographic photosensitive drum; a hole (13h), provided in the cartridge frame, for supporting the electrophotographic photosensitive drum in the cartridge frame, wherein a part of the hole (13h1) is open to permit insertion of the shaft of the electrophotographic photosensitive drum in a direction crossing with a longitudinal direction of the electrophotographic photosensitive drum; a bearing member (13R) engaged with the hole and rotatably supporting the shaft on the cartridge frame. <IMAGE> |
