ABRASIVE CLOTH DRESSING METHOD AND ITS DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve flatness by finding the most favourable condition in the case of carrying out dressing of an abrasive cloth by using a dresser grinding wheel having an outside diameter smaller than width of a use region of the abrasive cloth and eliminating nonuniformity of dressing quantity of the abrasive cloth after dressing. SOLUTION: Dressing of an abrasive cloth 1 is carried out so that sliding distance distribution of a dresser grinding wheel 2 at each position in the radial direction within a use region of the abrasive cloth 1 is uniformed while giving rotational motion to the abrasive cloth 1 by giving reciprocal motion in the radial direction of the abrasive cloth 1 to the use region while pressing the circular dresser grinding wheel 2 having an outside diameter smaller than width of the annular use region of the abrasive cloth 1 on the abrasive cloth 1 fixed on a rotating surface plate 3.
