PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compd, useful as a neutralizing and inactivating agent for an acidic substance, an IR absorber, antibacterial agent, a deodorant, etc., by bringing a water-soluble Al compd. and a water-soluble Zn compd, into coprecipitation reaction under specified conditions and bringing the resultant copreciptate into hydrothermal reaction. SOLUTION: A water-soluble Al compd. and a Zn compd. which is water-soluble in the range of about pH4-7 are brought into coprecipitation reaction at about pH4-7 and about 10-50 deg.C optionally in combination with a compd, of one or more kinds of elements selected from among Ni, Cu, Co and Mg. This compd. is water-soluble in the range of about pH47-7. The resultant coprecipitate is brought into hydrothermal reaction at about pH4-7 and about 80-170 deg.C to produce the objective compd. This compd. is a synthetic charcoaluimite compd. represented by the formula. wherein, M<2+> is at least one among Cu, Ni, Co and Mg, 0.3<a<2.0, 0<=x<1.0, 10<b<14, A<n-> is one or two among SO4 <2-> , HPO4 <2-> , CrO4 <2-> , SiO3 <2-> , SO3 <2-> , NO3 <-> , OH<-> and Cl<-> , 0.4<c<2.0 and (m) is 1-4. |
