PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material which is improved in reproducibility of gradation balance with respect to the fluctuation in amplification development processing time, and an image forming method using the same. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material having respectively at least >=1 layers of yellow image forming silver halide emulsion layer, magenta image forming silver halide emulsion layer and cyan image forming silver halide emulsion layer on a base, is made to in such a state that the R value (Ro) of the color image forming layer furthest from the base among the R values of the respective color image forming layers expressed by the formula is >=1 and that the R value (Ru) of the color image forming layers nearest the base is smallest among the R values of the respective color image forming layers. In the formula, n is half the stoichiometric molar number of the silver halide necessary for forming one mol of the image dyestuff from dyestuff donative materials. If >=2 kinds of the dyestuff donative materials are incorporated into the same color image forming layers, the numerator of the fractions indicating the R values is defined as the sum total of the values of the (the coated amt. of the dyestuff donative materials×n) determined by each of the respective dyestuff donative materials.
