PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic focusing device without erroneous judgement for following-up even when a zoom lens generating the focus movement by zooming is used. SOLUTION: This device comprises a first driving mode for detecting the movement of an object in the direction of optical axis and adding the compensation of the driving amount of a lens according to the movement of object and a second driving mode without adding the compensation of the driving amount of a lens. In this case, in an area in which the movement of focus by the zooming operation of a photographing lens is generated, this device comprises outputting means 117, 217, 317 for outputting a focus moving signal indicating the generation of the focus movement by the zooming operation and prohibiting means 123, 223, 323 for prohibiting the driving by the first driving mode. |
