GLASS ROVING FOR SPRAYING UP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease defoaming operations and to improve productivity by bundling plural pieces of glass filaments subjected to a surface treatment with a bundling agent. SOLUTION: The surfaces of the glass filaments having a diameter of 10 to 14μm are subjected to the surface treatment with the bundling agent having styrene solubility of >=80% and thereafter, plural pieces thereof are bundled to obtain glass strands. After these glass strands are dried, the strands are doubled in such a manner that the number of ends attains 23 to 25 pieces/3460 tex, by which the glass roving for spraying up having strand hardness of 115 to 150mm is obtd.
