<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost host base printer in which an overrun scarcely occurs. SOLUTION: A host system 1 delimits compressed image data into blocks of predetermined size, and sends them to a printer. The printer stores the respective blocks in reception buffers 9. If one page cannot be sufficiently stored in the buffer, first block is started to be output, and the residual block is stored in the area occupied of the vacant first block. Thereafter, the blocks for constituting the page are sequentially stored in the buffers 9 in parallel with succeeding printing of the blocks. Since the second block and following blocks are sufficiently smaller than the first block, the expanding process of the image by an image expanding/video transfer circuit 6 is scarcely delayed from a print output, and hence overrun scarcely occurs.</p> |
