PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the peeled pieces of the glass fibers constituting bag filters from sticking to the inside surfaces of the through-holes of catalysts by specifying the sizes of the through-holes of the catalysts to a specific range. SOLUTION: The exhaust combustion gases G1 generated in a burner 1 are purified in a gas purifying device 3 through a cooler 2 and are released in the form of the exhaust gases G2 into the atm. from a chimney 4. This gas purifying device 3 comprises a bag filter 6 and a denitrification reactor 8. The catalysts intermediate packaged in this denitrification reactor 8 is porous bodies of ceramics having the plural through-holes 14. The sizes of the through-holes 14 are specified within a range of 6 to 15mm, more preferably 6 to 10mm. As a result, the peeled pieces of the glass fibers constituting the bag filters 6 do not stick to the inside of the through-holes 14 even if these pieces are entrained in the exhaust gases G2 and are thereby discharged. The area, i.e., the opening rate of the through-holes 14 occupying the sectional area of the catalysts 7 is preferably specified to 64 to 70%. |
