PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate charging or rice and carrying thereof, by forming a packaging bag by heat-sealing both side ends or two plastic sheets and forming holes for strings at the respective upper ends of these two plastic sheets so as to close the opening of the packaging bag by the strings inserted in the holes. SOLUTION: Both side ends 3, 3 of plastic sheets 2, 2 are heat-sealed to form a packaging bag 1 for rice, having an opening 4 at the upper end. And string passages 5 are formed at the upper end of respective sheets 2, 2 to insert strings 6. The opening 4 can be closed by pulling the strings 6. Such a material that the cross-sectional area of the packaging bag 1 does not vary even when rice is charged up to 40-70% in the longitudinally lengthwise direction from the bottom and also a strength making it possible to stand for itself is obtained, is used. That is, polyethylene sheet 2 having a density of 0.918-0.935g/cm<3> and a tensile modules of elasticity of 2.8×10<3> -5.5×10<3> kg/cm<2> is used. And the thickness of the sheet is set within the range of 60-300μm.
