PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light reflecting film, the light reflectance of which is excellent through thin film is employed and has a plenty of whiteness by a method wherein a metal thin film layer is made of aluminum and the specified relationship is set between the reflective indices nf and nb , in which nf is the one of the fine inorganic particle comprising a fine inorganic particle-containing resin layer and nb is the one of the resin comprising the above-mentioned layer. SOLUTION: On one side of a polyethylene terephthalate film 1 having the film thickness of 50μm, a thin aluminum film layer 2 having the thickness of 1,000Åis formed by DC sputtering process. A painting liquid, with which a fine inorganic particle-containing resin layer 3 is formed, is obtained by dispersing a composition consisting of 82.5 pts.wt. of titanium dioxide, 112.5 pts.wt. of fluororesin, 52.5 pts.wt. of xylene and 52.5 pts.wt. of methyl isobutyl keton through kneading for 30min with a paint shaker. As the combination between the fine inorganic particle and the resin, both of which are employed in the fine inorganic particle-containing resin layer, an important selection is performed so as to satisfy an equality of nf -nb >=0.4, in which nf is the refractive index of the fine inorganic particle and nb is that of the resin. The painting liquid is applied on the thin aluminum film layer with a wire bar coater. As a result, the reflecting efficiency of the film is improved and its higher reflecting performance is obtained.
