PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a piezoelectric porcelain material having both temp. stability of mechanical quality factor and temp. stability of resonance frequency by incorporating a specified amt. of a subsidiary compsn. consisting of MnO and Sm2 O3 into a principal compsn. consisting of PbTiO3 and PbZrO3 . SOLUTION: A subsidiary compsn. represented by the formula c.MnO+d.Sm2 O3 [where the ratio of d to c is 1.5-2.0] is incorporated into a principal compsn. represented by the formula a.PbTiO3 +b.PbZrO3 [where is 47.0-50.0mol%, b is 50.0-53.0mol% and a+b=100mol%] so as to regulate the amt. c of MnO to 0.07-0.50wt.% and the amt. d of Sm2 O3 to 0.11-1.00wt.% when the total amt. of the principal and subsidiary compsns. is represented by 100wt.%. Mechanical quality factor is increased by MnO and the temp. coefft. of resonance frequency is improved by Sm2 O3 . |
