<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely supply power only from one battery pack when selectively supplying power from many battery packs to a computer system. SOLUTION: When a battery pack B is selected for power supply, a master battery signal MSTRBAT is supplied from a multifunctional portable super input/output (MSIO) 110 to a battery microcontroller 100 so that power supply from this pack B to the system can be permitted. When any abnormality is generated at the pack B during power supply, it is notified through a data line SDA to the MSIO. Thus, in order to cut off power supply from the pack B and to select another battery pack B' as a master battery, the MSIO makes the master battery signal to the pack B invalid and supplies the master battery signal to the pack B'.</p> |
