PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor memory in which external circuits such as writing and reading control circuits are not required while conducting writing and reading operations of picture data. SOLUTION: Column and row addresses inputted from the external are decoded by a column decoder 13 and a row decoder 15, start addresses are specified, reproduced data are stored into the memory regions which constitute 8 bytes×8 bytes blocks and the reproduced data are read from the memory regions based on the successively updated count values of a pixel counter 12 and a line counter 14.
