A device for laterally supporting or holding or suspending objects comprises one or more holding or clamping elements (1, 2), which may optionally be movable and fixable against a wall or a further element (1, 2) in an oriented fashion, in order to hold the object in place, supporting it from the side or from below, or intermediate thereto, or to arrange it in a suspended fashion. The holding or clamping element (1, 2) can be shifted along a slide rail (31) or longitudinal profile section that forms a free lengthwise edge (37) on at least one side, and can be fixed in place. The clamping element has one or more segments (5) that have one or more slot-shaped openings (11) or guiding slots which encompass or engage from behind the free edge (37), the aperture of said opening or slot being larger than the thickness of the lengthwise edge or the rail, as the case may be. The part (7) of the segment (5) encompassing or engaging from behind the edge or profile section, and extending away from the profile section is constructed in a bent or angled fashion, so that it at least almost abuts the rear side of the slide rail or the free edge at its end when the element is fixed in place. One or more additional, releasable clamping or holding bodies (13) are provided on the element (1, 2), in order to hold the element at least almost fixed to the rail. |
