In a process for generating gas from at least one carbon-containing raw material which is partially oxidised by means of air or oxygen or oxygen-enriched air in a gasification reactor, as much residual carbon as possible which is also in the ash is to be converted into gas. This is achieved according to the invention in that the gasification residue is taken to a melt bath into which an oxidiser and additives are fed, by means of which a secondary raw gas, ceramic slag and alloyed melt are produced, and the secondary raw gas formed in the melt bath is mixed with the primary raw gas. |
