PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely retrieve a desired KANJI (Chinese character) even when its radical, etc., are unknown by preparing a parts data file which stores the shapes of parts forming the KANJI. SOLUTION: One or both of the Japanese rendering and the number of strokes of parts forming a desired KANJI are inputted via an input/output part 1 and then written into a parts retrieval key memory 21 as the retrieval keys. A parts data file 25 is retrieved by every retrieval key, and the shapes of one or plural parts which satisfy the retrieval keys are shown on a display device 11. At the same time, the position codes stored in a position code memory 24 are shown on a horizontal line at the lower part of the device 11 and outputted. When a parts and a position code showing a position in the desired KANJI are pointed by the click operations of a mouse 13, a retrieval key is set on one of parts forming the desired KANJI. When all parts are designated and the Japanese rendering or the number of strokes of the desired KANJI are inputted via a keyboard 12, these Japanese rendering and stroke number are used as the retrieval keys to carry out the next processing. |
