The mechanism is sealed off hermetically from the outside by its housing when shut, so that no opening can be carried out from the outside under visual control where transparent materials are not used. The housing can contain passages forming a labyrinth, through which a ball or other suitable item is guided. The bolt can be thrust by a spring into the catch, the spring being compressed by the weight of the ball. There can be an extension on the bolt and into which the ball rolls, pulling the bolt free on appropriate movement of the housing.
