Silylated aliphatic polyamines of formula (I) and their salts are new. R'-NH-(CR2R3)nx-Si(R,R1)-(CHR4R5)m-NHy-R" (I) (sic). R', R" = H or 1-3C alkyl; R, R1 = methyl, propyl, isopropyl, phenyl or naphthyl; R2-R5 = H, 1-6C alkyl (optionally substituted) or aryl (1-6C) alkyl (in which a phenyl group is optionally substituted); x, y = 1-4; and n, m = 1-4. Also claimed is a composition containing at least one of bis(7-amino-4-azaheptyl)dimethylsilane (Ia) and bis(7-ethylamino-4-azaheptyldimethylsilane (Ib) and at least one inhibitor of endogenous polyamine synthesis, optionally in conjunction with at least one antibiotic. |
