A fastener for extension lamps on to furniture has a profiled rail 920) on the furniture item with an undercut groove (24) and a clamp (22) on which an arm (12) of the lamp is held, the clamp having a cam with an axi-symmetrical shape and sliding into the groove. In the transverse direction, the width of the cam is less than the width of the groove in a first position but if the cam is turned into a second position, it locks into place. The rail is formed as an edging strip on the furniture item and the groove is formed at the back. The cam has a rectangular shape with two opposite corners rounded off.
