Sensor for detecting oxidising gases

The sensor arrangement consists of a carrier (1.1), preferably ceramic or silicon, equipped with contact strips (1.2). To provide a gas sensitive material a layer of electrically conductive material (1.3) which can be oxidized is placed on the carrier material and its electrical resistance determined by an evaluator circuit. The resistance can be measured periodically and the difference in the measured values used as a measure of the gas concentration. The gas sensitive material can be carbon, sintered metal or a mixture of both.
