Electrical cable sections automated handling method e.g. for manufacturing cable looms/harnesses

The handling method has a received cable divided up into cable sections (4) of given length which are then deposited on a transport conveyor band (1) and delivered to a reception container (9). The latter lies at one side of the transport conveyor band, for receiving the cable sections via movement perpendicular to the transport direction over the full length of the cable sections. The cable sections collected by the reception container are periodically transferred to a transport conveyor (20).
