The gear branches (13) are for divided power transmission between the drive gearwheel and the driven gearwheel. Each gear branch contains an input gearwheel (16) with correspondingly inclined teeth and engaged with the drive gearwheel (4). It also contains an output gearwheel (18) with correspondingly inclined teeth in engagement with the driven gearwheel (6). The branches have coupling teeth, by which the input gearwheel of each branch is non-rotatable on the gear shaft (68) but axially adjustable in relation to the output gearwheel axially fixed on the gear shaft. Hydraulic damping devices are provided, which counteract axial vibrations of the input gearwheels in relation to the gear shaft.
