Floatable cover for sailing or motor boats

The flat cover (14,22) is carried by a float (6) arranged on both sides of the boat as allocated yielding fender floats (2) which are partly inflatable so they lie against the outer skin of the boat in this condition, inflated by air supplied by an electric pump. The individual floats are interconnected by means of a frame (4) whose rails are embedded in the floats. Parts (8) of the frame run across the boat being covered, and flaps forming part of the boat cover fold out to cover this from where fixed to the rigid side elements (10). Foldable film forms the cover float to fold out and so cover the boat and one part of the film folds back into a box forming part of the float unit.
