The invention relates to a method of manufacture of a die for pressing in particular optical discs as well as the pressing die thus obtained. The method of making a pressing die according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises the steps of depositing a layer of photosensitive resin upon a substrate ; recording the information to be duplicated, as a latent image, in the layer of photosensitive resin, removing the zones of insolated resin from the layer of photosensitive resin, growing microbosses in those zones where the photosensitive resin has been removed and removing the residual resin. The invention permits to obtain pressing dies usable for pressing in particular optical discs.
