The ski boot consists of a shell (1) which covers the foot, and a leg section (2) which is pivoted to it. It also has a reinforcing member to limit the flexibility of the boot in a forward direction, made in the form of a stirrup (9) which fits round the back of the boot between a supporting projection (10) and the lower end (11) of the leg section, with two arms (9a,9b) passing under the two pivots (3). The gap between the ends of the stirrup's two arms can be adjustable, e.g. by a regulating screw, or they can have an inward pressure applied to them by a spring. Alternatively, the boot can have two reinforcing stirrups, one on the outside and the other on the inside.
