A roof tile securing means for securing roof tiles to a roof structure is formed using multiple tile support battens (11) secured to the roof structure (10), each support batten (11) having upper and lower flanges (13, 14) linked by an upstanding web (15). Roof tiles (12) are provided with a slot (18) on an underside surface which allows them to engage the upper flange (13) of a support batten (11). The roof tiles (12) are arranged such that an upper end portion of each tile (12) is supported on the upper surface of a lower flange (14) of one tile support batten (11) and a lower end portion is supported by an upper flange (13) of an adjacent lower batten (11) with the lower end portion overlapping the upper end portion of an adjacent lower tile (12). In this way, with the slot (18) engaging the upper flange (13) of a batten (11), each tile (12) is securely mounted and the lower end portion is restrained against lifting movement.
