The invention refers to a unit for handling drill pipes and similar parts in order to be processed on machine tools such as lathes. According to the invention, the unit consists of a horizontal rectangular frame (1) embedded in the concrete floor on which a rectangular mobile frame (2) is positioned, propped and handled by means of three hydraulic devices (3) that rest on the footing. A feeding platform (A) with a 4 percent slope, ending to the outside with an arrester (a), is positioned on one side of the two frames (1, 2) and on the other side of the frames there is a similar platform (B) that receives the pipes on actuating rolls (18) for processing then on a lathe and conveying them by means of the same rolls (18) to the opposite side. During threading, the pipes are propped by means of hydraulic devices (6a, 6b) coordinated with transfer devices (13) and with receiving devices (15) for processed pipes from the actuating rolls (18).
