<p>The invention relates to a method of detecting an analyte in a sample of saliva which overcomes the problems of known saliva assay methods. The method involves the use of a surfactant solution which comprises polyoxyethylenesorbitan derivatives of palmitic and/or stearic acids and is particularly useful for assaying fresh samples of saliva which are particularly prone to give false positive results.</p> |
