A graphics controller circuit for transferring pixel data of a source area to a destination area in a memory implementing a tiled scheme for storing pixel data. The destination area may be divided into a plurality of destination sub-areas defined by X and Y tile boundaries, and source pixel data corresponding to each of the destination sub-areas may be transferred in a series of block transfers. As pixel data stored in each block transfer may be located within a tile, the amount of time required to store the pixel data may be minimized.
