The internal combustion engine has a cylinder head (12) and at least one camshaft (3,3'). On the endface of the cylinder head, there is a drive for the camshaft or shafts, and other units (7,8,9) such as pumps, driven from the same drive as the camshaft or shafts. These units can be themselves fitted on the end face of the cylinder head. Where there are two camshafts driven together from one control drive (5), one of them (3) may be connected to the control drive directly, and the other (3') via a belt or chain drive (4), so that the units can be driven from the camshafts and from the control drive. |
