Use of derivatives of succinic anhydrides in skin cleansing compositions

Derivatives of alkyl- and alkenyl succinic anhydrides are of formula GOOC-(HR)C-C(HR')-COO-(CmH2mO)n-H (I) or GOOC-(HR)C-C(HR')-COO-(CmH2mO)n-CpH2p-O-CO-(HR')C-C(HR)-COOG (II) in which one of R and R' = 6-22C linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl group and the other = H; n = 2-100; m = 2 or 3 and may vary along the polyoxyalkylene chain; p = 2 or 3; G = H, 1-6C alkyl, -(Cm'H2m'O)n'-H in which n' = 2-100 and m' = 2 or 3 and may vary along the chain, or a cation, with the proviso that if G = -(Cm'H2m'O)n'-H, then at least one of m and m' = 2, are used in cosmetic compositions for cleansing and/or removing make-up from the skin, mucosa, hair, etc.
