Disclosed is a method and apparatus for storing image signal. The apparatus comprises a multiplexer, a latch, a video RAM and a clock signal generator. The multiplexer multiplexes the brightness signal and chroma signal. The latch delays a part of data from the multiplexer as the period of brightness signal. The video RAM sequentially stores the data to the latch. The clock signal generator supplies the clock signals to each parts. Thereby, the number of video RAMs is reduced according to the multiplexing.
