Disclosed are articles useful for packaging, storing or transporting oxygen sensitive substances. The material of construction of these articles, or of a layer of such, if the articles are of a multilayer structure, consists essentially of poly(ethylene carbonate) in which the concentration of ether linkages is 8 mol % or less. In preferred embodiments the concentration is 2 mol % or less.
