COATING METHOD FOR HEARTH ROLL

The invention relates to a method for coating Herth roll which conveys electrical steel sheets in a annealing furnace. The method comprises the steps of: coating Zr powder on the surface of Herth roll by a conventional plasma coating; coating a rolling oil on the coated roll; cracking at 400 deg.C under a nitrogen atmosphere for several times to remain sufficient carbon residue. The Zr coating and the carbon residue gives abrasion resistance and improved lubricating ability to Herth roll. respectively.
