The trailer (2) comprises a chassis (4) mounted on a wheel axle (6) and a superstructure comprising upper and lower parts. The lower part comprises gangways pivoted on the chassis between vertical raised positions and horizontal positions. The upper part comprises a horizontal roof (32) mounted on a pillar (40). A hydraulic actuator (44) supplied by a hand pump enables the roof to be displaced vertically. An awning (34) is pivoted on the roof between a vertical lowered position and a horizontal position. A gas spring connects the canopy to the roof and uprights (38) maintain the canopy horizontal.
