<p>A brush assembly 27 has an insulating brush holder 30 with a tubular projection forming a brush guide for guiding a carbon brush 31 to a commutator. The brush holder 30 has an integral compartment 40 for housing a PTC thermistor 49. The compartment also houses two terminal plates 50, 51 which form a supply terminal 52 for connection of a connecting lead from a stator winding, and a brush terminal 53 for connection of a shunt 58 from the brush 31. The terminal plates 50, 51 have beryllium copper leaf-type springs 57 for holding and making electrical contact with the thermistor 49.</p> |
