<p>A method of forming a plutonium-containing product comprising combining the plutonium with an oxide or oxide precursor of a metal which does not breed plutonium. For instance, a mixture containing plutonium and zirconium species may be provided. Oxides of plutonium and zirconium are co-precipitated from a mixture and the co-precipitate is formed into a dry material suitable for disposal or use as a fuel.</p> |
