The alarm employs a radio transmitter, receiver and additional circuitry. The transmitter is fitted inside the car and is housed either in the rear view mirror, (Fig 3) or a separate module which may be located anywhere around the window glass. The receiver is fitted within the car owner's house and sounds when the transmitter is activated. (By opening a door, or by a sudden impact to the vehicle.) There is no delay time when the car door is opened,thus giving instant warning of intrusion or damage to the vehicle. When the receiver detects a signal from the transmitter it turns on a siren which can only be disarmed from within the house. A dry battery can power the transmitter, thereby making it independant of the car's battery. The receiver is battery powered, and is left in permanent standby for reception of a signal.
