Water treatment plant comprising pre-treatment means such as sand removal, grease removal, physico-chemical pre-treatment means such as coagulation and flocculation and biological pre-treatment means, as well as means for separating the solid particles contained in untreated water. It is characterised in that the said solid-liquid separating means (7) are contained in a circular element (8) and the means for supplying untreated water (9, 14) as well as at least one of the pre-treatment means (10, 11, 17, 18) are incorporated in a structure in the shape of an isosceles triangle (12) of which the apex is located on the circular element (8) diametrical axis containing the separating means (7), the sides are constituted by the two tangents to the said circular element, from the apex, and the base (13) is tangent to the circular element, at the intersection point of this element with the said diametrical axis.
