Convenient methods for processing a bacterial cellulose whereby various properties of the bacteria cellulose can be restored even after it is once dried. A method for processing a bacterial cellulose is characterized by disintegrating a bacterial cellulose produced by spinner culture followed by dehydration and drying under stretch. Another method therefor is characterized by disintegrating a bacterial cellulose produced by spinner culture followed by dehydration and drying in such a manner as to give a degree of planer orientation [h1/h2: wherein h1 means the height of a peak originating in the plane (110) in the diffraction curve obtained by X-ray diffractometry by the reflection method, and h2 means the height of a peak (110) obtained by the same method] of at least 2. Sheets excellent in filler yield and strength can be obtained from the bacterial cellulose thus obtained.
|
