A cover (11) which does not cause in environmental pollution is provided. The lid includes a cover main body (12) which covers an open portion at the upper end of a cylindrical container main body (15), has a tap (16) and is made of a plastic sheet, a seal portion (20) which covers the tap (16) of the cover main body (12) and effects sealing in cooperation with the peripheral edge of the tap (16), and a pull tab portion (21) which is formed integrally with the seal portion (20). The seal portion (20) includes a pull cap (14) made of a plastic sheet (14) having an easy peel layer formed thereon. The cover main body (12) has a holding groove portion at a position different from the tap (16), and pull cap holding means for holding the pull cap (14) after it is peeled off is formed in the holding groove portion. Because the pull cap (14) after peeled off can be held by the pull cap holding means, the pull cap (14) is not thrown away inadvertently after the beverage container is opened by peeling the pull cap off the cover main body (12).
